    Furano Nav Net Repair

last winter when I had work done on the boat, the yard put something on my nav-net screen that screwed it up. Is there a way to send directly to a Furano service center rather then dealing with a local? I was on the Furano website and it doesn't have links to service centers near southern NJ. If not, can you recomend an outfit near Ocean City NJ?

what did they do to it? Holding the Clear key while hitting the power key will reset it to factory settings..

if the unit is under warranty or Not I think the closest repair center is in Washington state.
You may have to take to a dealer to have them send it though,

I have had good luck emailing them directly from their website contact with questions. Furuno has always been very responsive and helpful in my experience.

Is the screen etched or scratched? Otherwise you could try to clean it with some sort of cleaner and then put one of those screen protectors (like a plastic film) on it.

The screen appears to have a finish which is effected. Thanks for the ideas and I'll be calling that Md. office in a few weeks.

I am curious as to what you find out. I have a navnet unit with a screen "smear", appears the coating has come off. I heard from a charter captain down south that the coating comes off with time and is close to a grand for Furuno to repair.

    Thank Lured,
Finally had a chance to make the call. Chris the Furano Tech, called me right back. I gave him my serial # and issue. He promptly told me that the problem is the partial removal of the ARC- Anti reflective coating. gave me 3 options. 1 use a plastic polish to remove the rest, that's if the unit is not in a sunny area. 2. send to Washington for a Bezel replacement which will cost around $465 + $100 labor, + freight. and lastly indicated that I could also return to a local vendor, except mine stole my single side band last year.

Camas WA is where they are doing all their repair work these days, turnaround time I've found on stuff is 2-3 weeks pretty consistently for the past couple of years. Not sure whom you had a problem with locally, but Martek got new owners not long ago and moved down to Clermont. Jeff, one of the managers, is now one of the owners, and he's been very good with me. You can drop stuff there, but it will go to WA. Calling like you did is the best bet to start, their service department has never been anything but excellent with me.
