Ok guys during all of my time looking for used boats i have noticed most craft have tanks holding under 100 gals. This includes sizes from 26 to 30 ft. My question is are larger fuel cells usually an upgraded item? 100 gals will not get me where i want to go once i get the experience and knowledge to get out there. Really want to try and have something in the water by the end of June or early July if all goes as planned
Well now that my GF son says there is no way he is going to get on any boat I am seriously leaning towards a CC instead of cubby cabin. As far as make or model will depend on cash that is available. Still waiting on the lawyers in FL to settle my Grandma's estate. But I really want something that can make a Canyon run. But everything I have been looking will only carry 100 gallons of fuel give or take a little. To me a 100 gal does not leave much room for trolling or moving around.

As Jaws said, adding tanks is an option. But this is your first boat, right? It took me 15 years of running boats before I ran to the canyons.
My opinion - Get a smaller one, get the feel for the boat and boat ownership before you invest the money for a canyon rig and gear. The entry point for a rigged canyon capable boat is at least $100k, alot of denero. Grab rides this summer and make sure it is for you. I might be able to find you a slot on one of our trips.
Hey Double D thanks for the advice and trust me I have NO plans on getting this boat and running it out to the canyons in my first year. If it goes that far it will be with someone else as captain and showing me the ropes. More than likely this is going to be the only craft I purchase and I want something that can do it with few modifications as possible. I do not want any of you expericened people to think I am just going to buy this and make that run. Once things have cleared I will make a few charters. Hell I need to make at least one to make sure I really want to fight them big fish LOL. But no matter what a boat is in my future. So I just wanted to make sure that I do not offend any of you here I have gotten some good advice from here and I am on here every day reading past posts. And any and all advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks John
