I have Racor 1000's on each engine and with the time between runs getting longer I decided that im surely going to have filtration issues if I didnt take charge. So I decided to build a small manifold, bought a gear driven pump rated for continuous use and installed another Racor 1000 in its own loop. I installed a timer and put this all on a seperate breaker. This thing works great. I turn it on for a couple hours while im down at the boat and it filters about 3 gals a minute. I can only grin when I look to change my primary Racors and they look as clean as when I Installed them.
The only warning is that I put a timer on so that if I forgot and left the boat it wouldnt run continuously. Also if a leak developed it would fill the engine room. I installed a pressure meter and sensor to alert me if this happened. But my dirty fuel days have ended. The fuel circulates quickly enough that I believe it is scrubbing the interior of the tank. Either way my fuel is clean and I have a reliable system that keeps me in the game. Good luck, Capt Larry
