Yamaha makes one specifically for that motor, I would go with that.

I have that system on my Parker with twins and it is very accurate.

    Not sure,
    But,
I put a flowscan in my 25' twin engine.
when I got to the dock if was within 2-4 gal ?
    200 gal fuel capacity.
Also lets ya know what your burnin at all times.

    That would be my bet.

I have the Yamaha fuel management gauge on my boat, but the latest model FlowScan would be just as good.

    New Boater

I am interested in adding one of these to my boat, is it a do it yourself project? I am a new boat owner with an older boat with twin 1996 Evinrude 150hp o/b. How difficult are these to install and will they work on older engines?

    Thanks,

    Just Pluggin Along

I have the Yamaha guages, I think they call them smart guages. My motors are 150 four strokes. I believe the Yamaha guages are fairly easy to install with Yamaha motors.
By the way they work great. I don't think they will tell how much fuel is left but they will tell you how much you have used. Just reset to 0 at fill up and you will know how much is left.

    Good luck,
    Fishduck

    Thanks FishDuck

I have '96 twin 150hp Evinrudes. Forgive my beginner questions but are these type of gauges compatible with older engines? Part of me wanting them is for fuel efficiency but also I was thinking it is another monitoring system to let me know if something is not working quite right, is that reasonable?

    Thanks,
    Just Pluggin

Check the new Lowrance fuel management gauges/system. Works well, Easy to install and is NMEA 2000 so data can be displayed on lots of compatible screens.
