John, I used to have the single display for twin engines. Had to keep toggling to check each engine. The display/electrical part worked fine. I think I went through about 3 extra impellers (?) that were mounted in stern area. Fuel traveled through, impeller turned creating electrical impulse, totalized fuel.
After the third stopped functioning I gave up on flo-scan. Fortunately after re-powering with Mercs, they have their own fuel management system.
When flo-scan worked it was extremely accurate. If I used say 90 gal., Wash. cany to Chinco., trolling, it was no more than 1 gal. off after re-fueling. Thank goodness I don't use that much fuel now. So don't know if that answers your question, just wanted to share my misfortune. Tim
well, not quite what I was hoping to hear, but still good info. THANKS!
I have the Floscan 9000 and I love it.
Had a FloScan 9000 (digital readout) on "C-Time" when we had the big, single OX66. Over 4oo hours (and a lot of gallons of fuel) and no problems. Once initial calibration was made, it was extremely accurate. As noted above, within one gallon on a hundred-gallon fueling. The 9000 model had input from the GPS so it could read nm/gal, which was very handy when tweaking trim and tabs.
When we repowered with twin F150s last October, I sold the Floscan and went with the Yamaha Fuel Management. Works great, but not quite as accurate and not as wide a range of adjustment available.

When shopping in 03 for engines I looked at a rig with yamaha's mounted. Yamaha's fuel management system closely resembled flo-scan to me. No doubt flo-scan is a proven system and I know many that are happy with it.
Brian, just curious, when you re-powered did the extra weight significantly lower your stern? I went from single to twins in 1990 on my Grady 24, it was noticable with waterline near scupper opening.

guys, thanks for the replies. I think I am going to go with this unit.
I will do a little more research, but it looks like this is a good way to go.
I have FloScan on my boat but I don't think it works. everytime I go Out it says its full and when I come home its say its almost full? Not sure why that is![]()
