I tried to give you some insight to the boat and was ignored. That boat that your friend bought on the cheap, because it was in disrepair for years, was almost sunk being towed behind a mother ship in a fierce storm that was so rough they could not load it up on the big boat. This was in the 80s I believe with my old but good memory. I heard it was full of water but still tied off to mother ship when they bailed it out. I think after that they decided it was not to be used with the mother ship. It was for sale a few times and had such little fuel capacity because of the original needs. {Mothership support always close} no one wanted it. I also heard that the deck was so low that it takes on water too easy. I hear the boat was bought for 10,000. It will take maybe 5 times that to make it whole. You have a very custom wood boat that was beat to **** and you want to fix it on the cheap thinking it is a fiberglass boat. Epoxy and 2 part paint aint cheap either. The Know How and many many hours to fix a wooden custom boat properly wont come cheap either.
With a memory like that you would make a great Pirate! Great answer, even better story. Every boat has a story, you do know this story very well. He should pay you just for your knowledge and info.
