A few improvements on the Fin Seeker

    Hello everyone!

Captain Bob decided to move the Fin Seeker down to North Carolina early this year to do a little "retro-fit". The Boat is a fifty three foot Bobby Sullivan that was built in 1991. When it was created, sliding windows were installed and later sealed shut. Or should I say, attempted to be sealed shut. Bob has enlisted the help of Captain Greg Mayer from the Fishin Frenzy to direct the project.

In addition to the new windows, we are also installing new foam boxes on the aft bulkhead that Greg crafted earlier this winter. While we have the time we decided to put in a stainless steel fish box liner.

I will try to keep the pictures up to date guys thanks for checking us out!

    Jason:

Looking good, you've certainly made some real improvements to Chip Shafer's old boat. Have a good season in Hatteras, hope to see you & Bob down there in April/May. Only wish I could have Scott go down with me.

Nice to see a great gal getting a new pair of sunglasses..what a sweet boat..got to love the cockpit length, 4 rod holders up her thighs..don't know much about a Sullivan but I do like her lines.

Hey guys I just came back in town for a doc's appt.
The project is coming right along and we spent most of a rainy weekend preparing the new trim for the inside of the windows.
We decided to go with sand-ply for the trim due to ease of finishing. Being as the windows will actually be glued to the side of the cabin it is not necessary that the trim be made of anything in particular. The windows are scheduled to be installed sometime in the middle of this week so I will post a picture of it when i get a chance. Other than that we have gotten the boxes glued in place and are preparing to line the existing transom box with foam then place in a new stainless steel liner. I am personally excited about this feature!

    Thanks

Well we got the glass glued to the boat and we are now focused on finishing the trim! Here are a few pictures ! The post in the center of each side window will be painted black. The fish box is now lined with foam and awaiting the new stainless liner.

    nice work..

is that 1 or two piece glass on the sides? also what type caulking / glue do you guys use on the windows? I have used a product called sikaflex on mine .. just curious what you cats are useing... I did a freezer plate box on a boat with a stainless liner and because of condensation I had to install a limberhole / weep hole down for the water .. but that was because of the plate.
