Favorite CC Boat and why
Hey guys just checking to see what kind of prefferences some of our members here have on center consoles! ANd for you big goers out there in your 40+ ocean runners do you ever consider going to a center console or using one as a second boat?
I personaly like and dislike like alo of CC's out there. The mass produced companies that I shall keep nameless for no tend to turn me off a little bit basically because the lack of some details and layouts. I actually prefer a three stage constructed boat that has lots of room for my feet to tuck under while I lean over the side fighting that giant 15" striper or tuna. Also a big concern to me is having a high gunnel to reach above my knees but not to my armpits. Well that's just for starters and I plan on jumping in after from hearing from some of you guys! |

Yeh I really like the 23 sea craft as well. Especially the older haulls. In fact its hard to find them for any descent price. Recently a good friend of mine just got a 235 ken craft... and man it rocks. Really high gunnels, heavy, and cuts through just about anything. It has a 250 on it and moves good. Actualy the faster you go the better it seems to run. I would have to say that its the biggest 23 out there. Actually one of my dreams is to see a tourny won by a small cc or cc in general. Its gonna happen...! Maybe soon!! |

I really like my parker. Can fish in 1' of water on the bar, or can run 70 miles for tunas.
What are the advantages of having high gunnels? Just make it harder to reach the water, or take a leak. |

I know a guy who was taking a piss off the back of boat 60 miles out. The hit a wave, his shins hit to low gunnels and he went in. Luckily someone saw him go and got the boat stopped. He easily could have been lost at sea :ernaehrun

Ugly but nice
Im not a big fan of center consoles unless im in Florida. Here in N.J. we have to run to far most of the time to and lets face it when you are 100 miles from home and it gets shitty thats a long wet ride in a boat with usually no place to sit. Im a marine surveyor and recently surveyed a 33' World Cat. This boat isnt the best looking boat, but what a ride. We sea trialed it in 5' close together slop. I told the captain dont go in the ocean I dont want to get wet. He said you wont get wet and if you do Ill give you $300 to go buy dry closes so you can finishthe survey. We never got wet, not one drop. This boat was so sturdy, and fast it was like we sere litteraly riding on a cushion of air. The motors are spread 80" apart so the boat spins like a twin screw boat. I will tell you what I have been on hundreds of boats from the biggest P.O.S. to the nicest of nice, for a center console that fairly reasonable in price I would definatly consider one if I was buying a boat of that style. Oh yea I forgot to mention not only am I a surveyor I also sell World Cats, just kidding.

Down here on the Gulf Coast, we need a boat that loves a head sea. Most of the time during the summer our winds are out of the south. My pappy says if you are going to do something, look good doing it! Regulator only

I agree with liking your Parker! It is the most comfortable CC I've been in when it comes to fishing for area to walk around. No clutter no thrills. Even with four guys all casting at once in different directions. The only thing is running in the big stuff. A bit rough- But boy is it sea worthy!! |

I'm not looking at large CC's, because we have the Bertram for those trips, But I must agreee with the above. I LOVE the old Potter 23' Seacrafts. But they have to be with an inboard. Helps stability, fishability, I can work on the engine, and I just like the look. Just my personal preferance.
