    Exhaust y pipe

Does anybody know where I can get a y pipe that connects the 2 exhaust manifolds into 1 pipe and out to the muffler? I have looked and haven't found any. I asked a welding shop about making them but they said it would be $900 and this seems high for no more than they are. I believe the openings are 4" for the pipes coming in and 5" for the single going out. The motor is a 350 chevy.

I had the same dilemma when I repowered my older Albemarle with 350's.I ended up just buying the fiberglass pieces available and made my own which actually wasn't that hard. You can buy them in straight 4" and 5" pipe also 45's and 90 degree.at the Y I took the 4" pieces and held them to the 5" and marked out where to cut then used quick set epoxy to hold in place, then fiberglassed all in place.hope this helps it worked great for me because you can grind pipes easily and make fit however you need.

I was thinking about the fiberglass stuff the other day. I have a buddy that works at a place that uses a lot of stainless pipe and he is going to try and make me one out of stainless (no charge). If that falls through I will probably go the fiberglass route.

Look for a chemical pipe/parts seller.I was able to buy 90's and 45's and some 4" and 6" pipe in ss.Cost was around $150 for supplys for two engines. From there,I had a friend weld them up.They will last a life time and then some.

I checked on Centeks website and found exactly what I needed. The price wasn't to bad $160. If my buddy can't make them I will get the Centek units.
    Thanks to everyone.

Do not forget to put crush rings inside the fiberglass tube, centex does not sell them but Lewis Marine does. You will crack them when your tighten the t-bolt clamps.
