engine size comparison

Anyone know the size different and potential issues with replacing 671tib detroit diesels w lugger 6140al? Any comments would be helpful

just saw the post, I'm not crazy about the new setup they have for this forum, maybe I'm just not used to it. I really can't give you an answer about the Lugger, don't have any around here and only see a few on the transiet boat's. I'd rather not give any info instead of bad info. I will say in generic term's, hp for hp, it would almost have to be smaller and lighter than the detroit. I'd look up Lugger on the net, I'm sure they have the spec's out for the public to view. Sorry I can't be of more help here, just not a popular brand here at home. Frank

hey hobie didnt you just overhaul both engines,what are you looking for smaller footprint engines or just more horsepower

our rebuilt engines are working great... just looking at an opportunity for a faster boat.
