F 1.... Don't think your gonna want to use the 28' Bertram vents! Check out Lightning Yachts or better yet give them a call. They have some innovative ways with dealing with air vents. Like on their sportfish, its ducted in through the bridge. I know your building a express, but they may have some suggestions for you and they are super nice guys.

    fish...

I would not wish those vents on anyone...

Fortunate One ...figure out what shape vents you want I can make them ..or anyone that can make a good looking box with drainage and a filter type box system can. add your genset and 30% more than the engines spec sheets say though for size.

    Thanks for the input guys.

I like the look of clean hull sides but it looks like that’s not going to happen as a result of the volume of air we need. So in go the louvers.

Don't get me wrong, I've seen some nice louvers, and our engine room air boxes were made and installed months ago but after all of the money I've spent on sound down components, I certainly don't want nice migrating into the deck and helm area. So the guy’s vacuum bagged the hull sides where the louvers are going and the process to make them has begun.

Having a ride that's as quite as possible is more important to me than settling for out board louvers. Although who knows, they just may help compliments the good looks of the hull.

On a better note, I pulled the trigger on a set of Stidd seats for the helm. Just waiting for the color swatches to come in today. WOOOOO! WOOOOO!

The Stidd's are for the guy running the boat and for the guy looking out for lobster pots and flotsam. Oh and for the occaisional client that would like a turn at the helm.

Me I plan on being in the pit, sitting on the Unlimited Release Marine chair watching the spread or catching some zzzzzz's on the ride out

There could be a captain on the payroll. I'm still working on that one. Our canyon trips up here in New England require a good day of provisioning and a 3 day trip absolutly requires full day to get ready. I'm so busy that it's not practical for me to do it.

And when I just want to skip over to Nantucket,Newport or New York City with the family, we'll have a comfortable place to watch the coast go by at 35 knts.
