    Enertia prop question

Well, I need a new prop for my Merc. 150 salt water, well I don't need one but I should have a spare and I don't have one. I'll keep the aluminium one that came with the motor for the spare and use the new one for the main prop. The Enertia runs approx. $ 550.00 compared to around 3-350.00 for a stainless. Does anyone use one? Don't know if I should spend the xtra $200. or so for it.(vs. other brands) Has anyone gone from aluminium to stainless, or to the Enertia? Need some input. The boat is a 2302 Trophy WA approx. 6700 lbs loaded w/ fuel and fishing gear and 3 peps, and is used in the Gulf of Mexico. In the winter months down here in SW Fl the Gulf gets pretty sloppy, and in 4-6 chop I break loose a lot and am looking too solve that problem, and have been told that the Enertia would be a good choice, I have also been told that the Rev 4 would be a good choice as well, so I need some opinions. Right now I have the stock aluminium wheel, and it serves it purpose in calm seas, 1-3 ft chop, so... Rev 4, Stainless, or Enertia.

    Talking Enertia props

I have used Enertia props on my previous boat with a single F250. I found that I got less steering torque and was able to get up to max rpms and make tight turns without blow-out. Getting on plane faster and staying on plane at lower speed was also better. My new boat has twin engines with Enertia props and I am very happy with them. I believe I will be better off with Power Tech OFS 4 blade props for overall performance however. Power Tech OFS 4 blade are stern lifting props and will give even more acceleration that the Enertia and as well keep you on plane at lower rpms. Another added benefit is you get greater handling characteristics with the 4 blade props. Please note! the, Mercury Rev 4 prop is another great prop but doesn't come in 1" of pitch like the Power Tech prop and is of a different geometry compared to the Power Tech prop. The Rev 4 has a few similar characteristics but top end suffered and fuel mileage (minor point) wasn’t as good. I have used them as well and still liked the Power Tech over them because of the single engine application. I found I needed a 16" pitch prop 4 blade for the boat for max performance with the boat loaded.
    Hope I helped
