IF ONE NEEDS TO INSTAL A SMALL BOAT CURTAIN IN COLD ASS WEATHER AND HE CANNOT MAKE THE "STRETCH ' FOR IT TO SNAP.....
AND THE BOAT IS NEARBY A "CLOTHES DRYER".....I HAVE PUT THE CURTAIN IN A CLOTHES DRYER WITH A COUPLE TOWELS....HEAT IT UP ...THEN QUICKLY WRAP IT IN A BLANKET....AND RUN OUTSIDE TO INSTALL IT....
SHE WILL GO ON THEN !

O.K Box I got what you mean there, that would work with the half zipper to the outside of the existing one. The curtains I made for my Grady worked fine, but I never used them when it got real cold. I have seen them tighten up because of the cold not allowing them to stretch. I have seen them get tight with age also due to shrinking.
I made my curtains out of TOP GUN polyester, have you ever used it ? I also used a smoked glass in mine, not real dark just a tint to eliminate some of the glare. I am not sure if I would do that on another set of curtains though. I used zippers on the side openings also, do you use velcro here also ?

During the late summer and early fall I get some boats to redo, seats, carpet, tops...etc. Most are bass boats but some are larger boats. Would like to do more of them, brings me closer to the sport I crave.

VA well , as long as were talkin canvas

I have a tip for the velcro way to do it as well- I make 2 Totally seperate flaps of 4" wide velcro. mark it off in 6" increments, sew it down to the existing side but only on every other box(if that makes sence). Doing it this way allows you to stick your hands in "6" pockets" on both sides to pull the curtains together to seal. Marty turned me on to the Stamiod- good stuff, but i really like sunbrella "PLUS". also i will use nothing but Tenera thread and strataglas. Recently tried some crystal clear 20/20 (made by strataglass but cheaper) and dont like it at all. Happy to see we have some canvas guys on here- most of the ones i know are not sf'rs and you would think they would try and help each other but most of them are some weird dudes!!!!! Peace- craig

OK Marty, I'll see what I can come up with. I don't really have the gift of story telling like you do, and have not had the adventures that you have had but I will try to do what I can. Thanks for the info and the offer.

Hey Box, I'll try and give ya stories, don't know how entertaining the will be, being that I'm a green horn and all, but I'll do my best. Probably be more on the huntin side even though I like fishin better. I have more experiance on the huntin side. I guess cause I can see my quary and I can hit it at 500 yards in a heartbeat.

If I can schedule it maybe we can skip the shipping and I can drive down. Love to meet you all and I love the Carolinas !! Went hog huntin in South Carolina a couple times a few years back, got me a couple hogs and caught me a small gator on the side. Was a blast so it was.
