Heck yeah I'm coming home!! Not soon enough but soon!

I think i did check out the blue seas products. Some of there stuff looks pretty good and user friendly. Just trying to get an idea of what I want to do when I get back. Really need to get the boat torn apart and see what I have and what I want.

    Thanks!

Tim, For what it's worth, keep it simple and secured. Don't try and get too creative. If you use components, wire and connectors made by GOOD manufacturers (ancor, hubbell, blue sea etc..) you'll make out OK. Buy your wire, connectors, cable ties, stainless screws etc.. in bulk, it's way cheaper and you'll end up using it at some point. Don't be tempted to "save a few buck's", I promise it'll come back and bite you in the tailend. You can make this a slam dunk the first time. You can use breaker panel's, fuse panel's or both. Buy quality heat shrink tubing (I use only Ancor) in bulk and use it on all terminal ends. Use your heat shrink in longer length's than you think you'll need, this will make for a better water-tight connection, you won't regret it. Tie everything down to bulkheads or some structure that is not moving, this will cut back on chafing and weakening (breaking) of the wire. Don't be in a rush and most importantly if you don't know, ask! I'm sure there are alot of guy's on here that are willing to give advice (better than I can) when needed. Fire is a terrible thing on a boat. Frank,SeaPower

One more thing. Draw your system's out on paper. That'll make it all the easier. You can alway's go back for reference if you have it down, no guess work. You can put your components down, amperage it will take to run it, the length of the run of wire. From this you can figure the size conductor to use that will not allow too much voltage drop, causing failure or over-heat to the circuit. It really puts it all into perspective on paper (does for me anyway), makes for a "no doubt about it" installation. Frank,SeaPower

Thanks Frank! That is some really good info. It's a lot of that little stuff that I don't know that'll make this better/safer/easier. I'm quite certain that I'll be on here with A LOT of questions once I get back and get things rolling!

    Thanks again,
    Tim

Tim here are some pics of the board I have. Its been packed away for several years it was with a bunch of stuff that came with my old scarab I bought as a project. I thought it was a bigger board its rated for 6 circuits at 10amps each its brand new with the blister back I took it out for the pics. Now I remember why I didnt use it I built a custom panel to fit where I wanted it. If you want it youre welcome to it.

Thanks Nauti! I really need to get back and look at the layout of the boat more to know for sure. I am pretty excited about getting it all started!

    Thanks again,
