looking for info.. the pro's and con's looking at the 23-25 cc.. single or twin? why and why not... would you go brans new or look for a used.. or would you look at another boat in the same price range? thanks.
They make a pretty good package boat. I had the 23 for a while. The factory OMC power had taken a dump so I powered her with a single 225 yamie excel. The boat had a good ride, good drift amd just an all around nice rig. I discovered though when she got to about ten years old that her glass had crystalized and had become brittle. On my way to Bimini from Key Largo she let go. The hull split right at the lifting strake... I altered course and bee lined for Miami and straight into a waiting fork lift...
The people at Dusky were slow to honor their warranty which was about six months from expiring. They finally did repair it. Two years later sitting at the dock the smae area on the other side split while sitting at the dock and down she went... Bye Bye...
Was it the boats fault or mine? I have always run my outboards pretty hard but a boat should be able to take a beating? Maybe a combo of both... Me catching air and the glass with voids...
Couldn't catch a mess of fish at sea world with a dip net.

My father in law had a 23' inboard Dusky. Loved it to death. He traded up to a 26' boat and says it was probably one of the bigger mistakes he ever made. He loved that boat. Dusky makes decent boats.
thanks guys.. only thing i don't like about the warrenty you have to take it to them.. and its all the way down to fl and i'm up around cape may.. so thats a long run...
buddy of mine just got his new dusky 256 and loves it. If you get a new boat make sure you don't give them the check until you check everything out before you bring it home. If you would like more info PM me and I'll put you in touch with my friend and he'll let you know about dealing with dusky from a long way away. Heres a pic of his boat. He loves the boat and is glad he got a dusky
