Do any of our sponsors deal in Graco Stuff

I have a Graco ARG 2000s sea strainer. I am wondering if the top that comes off to service the filter can be replaced with one that has a hose hookup and ball valve on it so I canfreshwater flush my engines. Rather buy it from someone who helps the site if I can.

That is a great idea , on my old boat we had a cummins 260
6-BTA,,,in the parts of the season were usage got below 2 times per week we would run a set up like that ,fresh water for several minutes and then run salt away thru her and shut it down

just make sure you have enough water pressure to keep up with the cooling

Take the top off of the strainer and let the water from the hose run into the strainer while you run the engine.

Groco doesn't make one, you will have to drill and tap if you want one. I tried it for winterizing using a pump system with a garden hose and found that more times than not, the engine would suck so hard that the hose would collapse. I am sure most docks can provide more water than the pump I have, but IMO pop the top and stick a hose in. It will provide enough water so your impeller doesn't burn up and you won't have to wonder where you left that nice new top you made.
