    is there anything worse than ...

    pluging in a wet vac, grinder, porter cable with 36 grit, a roto-zip and being in the hot florida sun grinding away at a hull? Taking a vac toilet apart and seeing a white mouse (feminine product isn't fun either)..

    let the fun begin...

    ok...here we go...
    remember this thread...fuel tanks...the whole truth...

    well here's the progress on this rig...
    the replacement bulkhead was made,the tank sheleves were repalced-all were rotted from the bilge water-typical grady white
    the tanks were cleaned in acetone,lightly scruffed then etch primed,followed by epoxy coating...

    tanks were layed onto strips of starboard-i like 1/4"...i bond the starboard to the tank shelf by using "starbond",the only product that will adhere starboard onto another surface...i allready explained the tank coating process...so...

    here's the pics...

    more...

    this is a 1984 c-hawk,25...this rig is in for a new deck,deck is dry rotted real bad...the fuel tank is under the deck-no access...so...the tank is being replaced while the deck is being replaced...i had to cut the deck out...i really like using the skill saw...

    there's a common theme here so far,that would be fuel tanks...i preach this for a reason,the aluminum fuel tank has a finite life,read that as it will need to be replaced...remember this when you purchase a used or new boat-this my friend is a fact of life...be smart,replace it before it leaks...waiting till it leaks is asking for trouble...along with asking for a big fine for polution...check your insurance policy,see if it covers,environmental accidents,if your policy doesn't,i suggest you get one that does...

    here's the pics...
