    last one...

last one is a job i'm not gonna give too much info on...
it's got a serious fiberglass problem...
stringers are detached from the hull...there's a problem with the bulkheads...the hull is actually broken in the mid ship area...i had to cut the cabin deck out to get a better look at the extent of the damage-it's not pretty...this is a pretty late model boat from a pretty well known builder

    here's the pics...

here's a few more pics, after the cabin deck was cut out and hte area of the cracking was "opened up" a little...not sure if the stress lines will come out in the pics...the damage is not just the lifting strakes,it's carried through to the hull...
    check out the pics...

i highly reccomend everyone inspect their rig in the bilge area-do this on a regular basis...look for areas of cracked glass, look for areas of "rusted water" stains on stringers and bulkheads...look for cracking anywhere...if you're in doubt, have somone check it out for you...inspect the bottom of your rig, look for the same things...check the transom area, pay atention to the engine mounting areas-outboard rigs, look for signs of cracking,if there's sings, have someone check it out for you...

    nice work kid!

Jimmy gotta tell ya the first thing I look at when looking at an older boat now is the tank... sad to say but this new ethanol is rotting out the old fuel lines fast also so everyone of the boats I look at has a $ tag on that part. how long of a de-lam / was that stringer failure? I have found cutting out old 8 lb fuel/saltwater soaked foam sucks...

gotta agree with everything you said the ethanol even takes out the fuel sending units hard to believe huh ??
that stringer problem, that rig came from the factory like that...the bulkhead is "short" about 1"...ready for what the bulkhead is made from ? 8mm nidacore, nice huh ??the stringers were lightly glassed to the hull-i don't see any traces of laminating mix the stringers further back are completley intact

you gotta love the fuel/sea water soaked foam...
i allways like when i get done a foamed in tank job,and the onwer tells me,"the boat feels faster"...i had a proline, the boat had a list at rest, the tank was leaking on it,when i cut the deck out, removed the tank, the list was pretty apparent, water was trapped between the stringers on the outboard side of the hull-port side...i'll bet i removed an easy 600lbs...
if boat owners seen how some really big name boats are built, they would be scared to death...there's a reason a regulator, jupiter, contender, cost way more than a pro line,or a wellcraft,it's called quality of construction...

i'll update these pics as i go...

    hey joe...
the proline i referred to was a 97 25...i've done fuel tanks in alot of prolines...one a 20' stalker,it was out of warranty by 2 yrs,the factory actually split the cost with the owner-a very nice gesture...

no joe,it's a different brand...a pretty big name too...waiting for word from the factory, the factory promised to kick in a few bucks towards the repair, due to the fact the boat was put together real bad...

    ethanol sucks

besides eatin up fuel tanks, ruining lines and sending units, ethanol is also causing a handful of engine problems. a boaters group in oregon got a hold of someone who is connected in their state headquarters to pass abill that marinas and aviation centers will have ethanol free gas. anybody have any political connections ? in new york and or new jersey.
