    Diesel... gotta love it.

Just ran up the road to the local gas station / BBQ joint for lunch (that's a local thing here)...

    $4.18 for Diesel!!!

Man, I made a smart move selling my F-250 in Sept. before this crap started. I doubt it would have brought the money it did now that diesel is out of control. Well, all gas/fuel is out of control... but at .80 less a gallon, I guess it doesn't hurt as bad. But it still sucks.

Looking hard at adding a bike to the garage for the quick trips. How do you guys like the BMW GS's with the hard cases?

i run a 2005 f350 6.0 turbo diesel and YES fuel prices suck! I run a lot of red fuel when i can get away with it in my transfer tank, but most of the time i am paying a fortune...... Diesel prices suck, but so do gas powered trucks after you run a diesel. NO BALLS>>>>

Diesel might be high but I'd rather tow my boat with my diesel than a gasser. Friend of mine just filled up a rental car in San Diego and gas was $4.18.

I got a buddy that runs recycled cooking oil in his f-350 and he says it runs pretty good after about $300.00 in new parts, keeps it's power pretty well. the only downside is the french fry smell.

No BMW scoot...but I did get an 1100 V Star a couple months ago for the very reason you state. My 2500 Avalanche gets a whopping 12 mpg...damn gas big block!

My V* is getting about 46.5 mpg. With just 2,000 miles on it I'm hoping the mileage will go up a tad once broken in a little more. She started out about 42 mpg and increased with every fillup for the first 1,000 miles or so. It's leveled off for now...but I'm not complaining at 46 mpg! Oh...twisting the right wrist will lower my mileage back down to 42-43.

Anyway...the V* isn't a BMW...and the 1100 Custom isn't a bagger...but it is comfortable for a mid-size bike, has good fuel economy, is less expensive than most other bikes I looked at, and has plenty of power for this new rider.

The Avalanche sits still unless it's raining.

An 1100 is a MID sized bike? Holy jumping Geezus

Man, a diesel truck is a piss poor investment these days unless you have something substantial to tow. I've got a Ram 1500 with a 4.7 liter V8 and I get 19-20 on the highway and about 15 around town. Pay less for fuel, pay less for the truck up front, get about the same mileage as a diesel. Of course, all I've got to tow is my duck boat.

Wasnt the WHOLE POINT of diesel the diesel industry being created was for a cheap alternative to gasoline? Diesel fuel United states national average in January of 1999 was $.97/ gallon. Now $3.98/ gallon national average. Thanks again George Bush. You are a real asshole.

Jake, stop embarrassing yourself and do some research, it's not exactly Bush's fault.

    $4.25 in MD this morning.

I dont usually use the cases, I took the passenger seat off a bungee net my pack to the rack.

unfourtunately, I still have to put fuel in my boat in order to make a living.
