I use a multi port sea strainer that has a 1 1/4'' inlet and it has 3 outlets that feeds my a/c pump ,raw water washdown and a bait pump ,of course there is a scoop stainer under the boat for the inlet, The brand name is Marine Hardware ,I could not cut and paste the website but do a search for "marine hardware inc." and the download their plumbing catalog it is called a top view multi-port sea strainer, this is a lot more simple than building a sea chest ,hope this helps

Thanks; That is great way to do it if i only had to supply salt water for A/C, wash down and gen. I also have two large live wells and was interest in how the sea chest worked and weather it would be worth while.
I have been in on the construction of a couple of larger Sportfisherman that have had them.
Basically we cut two large oval holes in the bottom of the boat, and fit them with flush strainers, routered in to the bottom of the boat.
Inside the boat an area was blocked and built between the stringers, probably about 3' wide by 2' and glassed and smeared inside and out, etc.
Every Raw water need, except motors and gen were run off that thing. thru hull fittings all over side top back etc.
