Not sure about rebuilds but our large 20m Catamran high speed foil assisted ferry has done approx 11,000 hrs with no major hiccups.Its twin Series 60 740hp @2300rpm though!

Hi Perfect Score,
Met the distrubutors of MTU in the South Pacific today and they reckon its approx 10,000hrs give or take for the rebuild for pleasure rating.

Are alittle on the expensive side, but do last well and give good service. Not a bad choice in my opinion. Frank

Two cycle engines therefore tend to be less fuel effiecent then alot of the competition.

.....which would be a consideration if the 60 series was a 2-cycle engine.
