Designing and Building Custom Hull Vents

Hey guys so i was looing to replace them shitty hull side vents with aftermarket vents on my 29' phoenix, very similar to the 28' bertram. Unfortunatly or should i say fortunatly i couldnt find any. So whats Lobo Marine to do? Well design and build our very own. So thats waht we did, heres what we have done in a the past two days.

1) Came up with a concept and designed it!
2.) designed in a cad system and made a program to make a mold.
3.)Machined the mold today!

We will pur our first set this week and update you guys!

Anyone intrested in a pair of these fiberglass vents can contact me. looking somewhere around five to six hundred per set. But we will inform those who are intrested. Great for Bertrams and Phoenix.....and any other boat.
Custom inquires welcome, \
Custom molds start at $3500 and up

Custom vents

Not bad looking vents ...
They are hard to find especially the more modern sportfish slanted type.
Could you please post some dimensions would these fit on a Carolina 38'.

Regards Andrew

Very cool. Love the Bridgeport CNC - I's love to have one of those.

Ran into the same problem, needed some custom vents for a custom boat. Couldn't find any so the crew built them.

Would love to have had them made. But in the end the guys did real nice job on mine.

Good luck with you venture.

Best Catch: The next bite on a jig.
I have seen them cut out of foam on the CNC, then lay the glass over the foam, pour gas in and eats away all the foam leaving custom vent.

I like the design rampage made..

the cat engine department has all the air they need not only that the drains are cool and so is the cubic foot of air they let in.

hull vents

around 1986 I renovated an older white hulled 24 black fin with black plastic louvers that were really in bad shape. I cut and routed a piece of white acrylic into a modern shape, Built a box inside of hull out of sight. A local boat co.liked it so much they started cutting the same shape right on the side of the hull for dryer vents and such. The lead designer was a good fishing friend then, so it was fun to know where it came from.

We could have done that but we figured if were spending the machining time why not make a mold. there was alot of intrest for these vents by other guys who wanted to modernize their boats hull...I will soon pour glass in these then have the first set ready to install in our current project a 29 phoenix sfx
