I can't say enough great things about Jim Polatty & his team (Freedom Boatworks) / (now bought out by Blue Water Wanchese). Jim runs Blue Water now. I will do a thread to show the amazing work that Jim & crew has done to finish this boat off for my needs. He has managed to maintain the exceptional level of quality/fit & finish to match that of the builder, Shearline Boats Works.

This was the boat as I purchased it.

A few mid way pics of the new lettering. Also you can see the fold down Green Stick mount & extra rod holders below the belly band.

I am new to posting on this site but have lurked this boating forum for years. Love to read boat stuff just as I know all you guys do. I fish a lot out of OI for (mostly) meat fish. I am setting this rig up for the way we fish. There are very few custom Carolina open back /day boat FB's. I have spent years searching for just the right one. All boats are a trade off but I think due to increasing fuel costs, I will be ok with a bit smaller package.

37 Shearline, twin Yanmar 370 hp. 24knt cruise at 1 NM mile to the gallon. Will start a separate thread once the boat is done.

Thanks again for the interest Jay & Taylor. Hope you guys will come down & help us break her in.
Would love to come down and fish the boat with you. Wheres the green stick you said you were putting on it? Billfish told me about slaying the striper fishies in december down OI with you. I am available when ever and would love to fish the new boat when the tuna are there in spring.. boats lookin good. well like I said it looked like one of the best profiles of a 37 carolina FB boat when you got it.

    Hey Jay,
U can ride with Billfish and I down anytime, we can get CB's deck good and bloody ... Bill has a good coat of wax on her so she will clean up nice & easy. Question is can her two boxes hold a 7 person limit of Bosco yellow bellies ... one way to find out.

I may even talk bilfish into taking the ferry and shock him by paying with my money??? I also got some new toys lately. I got a really low priced stella 20Ks and a OTI 60-80 popping rod. I also picked up a new oti jigging rod for a good price also. I want to start catching some tuna on spin stuff now? Bilfish used to get mad at me for always putting small stuff out when big fish were around. Now they push the small stuff for big stuff but xtra drag and backbone.
