Today we had a meeting with the electronics guy.

After seeing the 17" Big Bay monitor that will fit like a glove at the helm I've pulled the trigger on the package.

We just stuck them in place, hooked them up to a lap top so I could see them function.

These monitors will be hooked up to the Navnet 3D black box system.

These aren't ordinary monitors, they are lit with LED's. They're made to military specs and they bond the screen to the anti glare glass to eliminate moisture from getting trapped between the screen and the glass.

I bought 3 of them. 2 for the helm and ! for a cockpit cabinet.

I'm sure the kids will like the one that's being installed in the cockpit since it has an S-video input and they can sit back there on warm summer nights and watch movies.

Yup .. those monitors were definitely the right call. You cant skimp out at this point! Gorgeous.

Thats not a scratch on the helm pod is it? Hoping its a reflection of the chord.

    Nauti Natured,

Nope that's not a scratch. It's the reflection of the cord.

As deep as that shine is that pod has yet to receive the final coats of varnish.

That square layed out in painters tape on the pod is the location for the station control switch.

Once the square is cut out then the pod will be removed and varnished again. We're also waiting for a couple of custom stainless steel escutcheon plates to come in that will fill the void between the throttle controls and the helm.

Mac, it is awfully exciting at this point.

Here we are ordering electronics, the seat cushions and bunk matresses are ready to be picked up, I'm meeting with the gal that's applying the gold leaf lettering on the transom later this week and once she's done with that then the transom gets sprayed with a coat of clear.

Excited? Man I'm out of my mind excited.

Hi just a stupid question, how you gonna split screen those to monitors at the helm , I'm assuming that they are split screen,ie what on which one, if you understand, what I'm trying to say is 2 enough? For everything that you monitor.

    Flatdog,

From what I'm told the screens will split as many times as the software tells them to split.

The screen that’s in the picture will mount close to the edge of the dash it’s sitting in. The other screen will move to the far right. That will allow us to mount the electronic Yanmar engine gauges in-between the monitors.
