truly.......no detail overlooked......by this thread she appears to me as constructed perfection...![]()
VERY nice!
Paul, the next couple of weeks will be determine if the tower gets built and installed this year.
As I'm sure you can see in the posts the crew is pushing to get her to the point where we would have enough time to get her splashed to begin sea trials.
The rest of this week and next week is critical. If the cabin gets painted and a few other things get done and the electricians pull things together to the point where it's possible to get her wet then we'll pull the trigger on the tower, get that installed and then store her inside to get finished out over the rest of the long cold winter.
Mike
I'm glad to see the responses to the teak deck post. It's been a long time getting to this point and I'm enjoying every minute of it.
Hi Mike,
Very polished work indeed!!I just cant to see the splash pics and performance figures!!Please post some engine room pics when all assembly is done prior to splash. After three quick trips to my designers in Mt Maunganui,NZ,we had very lengthy meetings and have finally signed up the final set of plans with work in progress as of now.The final LOA is 13.3m and BOA is 4.35m.Material is still Sealium BUT perhaps the biggest change was that the single screw idea was thrown out by the designers.Safety, ease of manouvering and shallow draft for coastal cruising led to finalisation of twin HJ 364 Hamilton Jets coupled to twin DI12 69M Scanias@700hp each.Top speed of 43-45 knots and a cruise of 32-35 knots is predicted depending on loads. It will be having the latest Blue Arrow controls and Mouse boat!!Attached is a model and rendering shall be available this week!!
regards from Fiji Islands!!

Good luck on the build Dr. I'm sure there will be many more items changed along the way.
I was down at the shed this morning meeting with SteveK from this board and Capt. Bill Brown a renowned and extremely humble charter captain from these parts.
http://www.osegsportsmens.com/html/bill_brown_.html
Bill had the same reaction that everyone has as they enter the shed from the wood shop. It's a common prayer and it's always the same. "Oh, my god!"
Vin McCarthy once said "she's a beautiful as any cathedral he's ever seen in Europe." I guess the comparison to a cathedral was fitting after all.
Bill and I have been talking about what goes into the ultimate express boat for a while now. Today we were talking about the final set up of the boat for fishing.
One of the electricians was there pulling cables and hooking up the engine harnesses. I still have to pinch myself to realize that this isn't a dream.
The crew working in the cabin are banging away and making good progress. They've cut the door opening into the day cabin and Margery has created a solid mahogany door frame profile that is beautiful.
The door frame mock up was taped to the lower section of the opening where the blue painters tape was and it's now sitting on the seating surface to the right of the opening because I just had to fold it to see how she built it.
It's fitting that the master cabin is getting finished first. The cabin has been prime painted, sanded and made ready for paint. The guys have started applying the varnish to the interior hull and frames that are going to remain exposed.
The fiddles are on the cabinets to port and starboard. That same style fiddle only more substantial will be installed around the bunk.

I second that!
I'm coming back to this page every day a couple of times a day to see if there's an update.
I'm sure you've heard this too often now, but this build is AMAZING.
The attention to detail is spectacular.
I hope I can build myself a boat one day that looks half as good as this one!
