    Mark,

That floor is exquisite. I’m willing to bet that the pictures don’t do it justice.

Man, I hope they sealed it with a lot of epoxy.

After receiving your e-mail eralier today I’ll be contacting you again soon about my idea.

You certainly have a knack for capturing game fish with paint.

Mike, ya your right the floor is alot prettier than the pics show. Plus with the carpet added it really brings it all together. They also used some of my artwork to make bedspreads and pillows. Thanks for the nice comments.

Well this is the week we finally go into color coat on the hull sides. We've had some scheduling issues over
the last couple of weeks with the paint crew but they are finally ready to get it done.

I can hardly believe that the color coat is going onto the hull. What a milestone.

She was shot with the final coat of primer last Saturday, she's been DA'd with 320 grit so the primer actually has a shine to it.

That white primer just doesn't do her justice. She deserves a classic color.

Next up 4 coats of Fighting Lady Yellow.

The toe rail and pulpit has been completed and sealed. The Windless has been fit and removed so the non skid can also be applied.

I know it's my boat and I'm biased, but I consider myself to be a student of boats and design. So naturally I've looked at a lot of boats over the years
and I have to say that I've never seen a nicer pulpit and toe rail on any other boat.

Just look at the edge of deck, which Bill also created once we decided what shape we wanted. Look at the shape of the toe rail as it blends into the pulpit and how it all interacts and tucks into the shape of the bow stem area. That really is art.

And it's all designed to be further enhanced once the stainless steel anchor is hanging off of the pulpit.

Bill did a fantastic job on that.

A lot of custom cold molded boats don't have pulpits, and the reason for that is some people prefer a clean look. I was leaning that way also and then Dave and I were talking about it and decided why go to the back and deploy an anchor and then go to the bow and tie it off? Especially in rough weather or while gunkholing with family and friends.

So we decided a small pulpit was the way to go and in order to keep things clean once the anchor comes up, we put a recessed wash down quick connect fitting right next to the pulpit. That blue hose sticking out of the deck is where the fitting will live. It will be recessed into the hull.

That cleat that you see installed down the side is identical to the cleats in the cockpit. I love those things. They're large but not too large that they don't look good.

Check out how the toe rail tapers as it goes back over the broken shear.

    Everything is still dusty.

The bait freezer has been receiving some attention. Once again we've maximized all of the space possible. The insulated lid was being vacuum bagged this evening.

Note the removable starboard base with drain holes in them. It will make it easy to keep the freezer clean and prevent bait flats from sticking to the bottom.

The galley cabinet doors are being fit. Kroon sent the pull handles for the doors in the wrong finish. We ordered polished stainless and they sent brushed. Minor set back but I'm going to just have to wait for the replacements to come in.

The simplistic look of the galley cabinet doors just makes it look like a classic. But the difference is the design is our own "Herreshoff like". So although it is a traditional design it is our design with small radius cut protruding door jambs and raised panel doors.

The head liner that will eventually be installed recessed up between the deck frames will be a white painted bead board material. A good portion of the deck frames will remain exposed.

    Got Clamps?

The hanging locker with lower draw and cabinet in the smaller cabin is getting some attention. Actually the detailing of that cabin is almost complete and ready for paint.

The upper bunk is hinged so when not in use it will lower down and make a back rest for the bunk below which then can be used for a sitting area.

The door opening is going to be widened and a bi-fold door will be installed. So it someone wants to sit there and read a book they can open the doors fully and feel like they're sitting in an open area.

Bill was working on installing the cabin hatch. I was hoping it was installed because I wanted to get a picture of it but that has to wait until the weekend. It looks like he was fitting a couple of pieces of hardware so I imagine it's going on Thursday morning.

Just one more thing to look forward to.

And miracles never cease to happen. The electricians returned today to lay out the remainder of the ducts for the HVAC and refresh themselves as to where they left off. So we're finally getting some attention on the electrical side again and it's just in time.

Wow... I have to say I've been jonesing for an update and this definitely did it. A lot of progress has been made since the last update, looks like the teak went down in the pit too. What did you end up using for the toe rail and pulpit? Clear or a varnish and did you epoxy before that?

    Triniswordfish,

Good luck with the weather. If you get a chance send me an e-mail about the new ride. Upgrading is always a good thing. I'm curious to see what you upgraded to since your last boat looked great after the repower and cabin renovations were completed.

I'm riding high this weekend, the hull is getting painted today, relatives are up from the southern part of the country for a week of vacation, we have plans to get offshore and the weather up in New England couldn't be better.

I'm hoping to post some photo's of the boat later in the weekend with the color coat on.

What a long road this has been.
