It's a combination of paint and west system epoxy. It was painted as the epoxy was still wet and it's as hard as nails.

Here's the latest. Some of these pictures were from last week also.

The cabin bulkheads are going in and the galley is being built.

Port seat frames are being constructed with a built in drink box with cooler. The companion seat base has been built. We're just waiting for the on deck AC unit to be installed so the double seat bace can be installed over it.

The chart storage locker is built to port awaiting the chart table to be installed on top of it and returned to the front of the dodger. We're working out the sliding hatch design which will be adderssed at Tuesdays meeting.

The dodger sides have been faired.

The fuel runs are still being done but should wrap up soon.

The Freezer units have found their home and the bulkhead is ready to receive the engine room control box. One per side.

Figured I throw in another picture of the tackle box frame in place.

The trim tabs and rams have finally been installed. Most of the hull and topsides have been faired. They are ready for a shot of 545 primer on the dodger. The strut guy didn't show up last week as promised. A lot of the bulk electrical, HVAC and freezer work is underway. Tuesdays meeting will center on the Tuna Tower and windscreen. I'm going to go with the Besenzoni helm and companion seats.

The teak deck is still being massaged down. Still glad we sub-contracted that work out. They are doing an exquisite job with the fit and it's going to be wonderful when it's done.

They installed high velocity Delta "T" fans in the engine room. This was done to insure there is enough airflow in the engine room at WOT. I'm sure it will help cool the engine room down quickly. Next update should be much better. There's a lot about to get accomplished and now that the glass guys are done rubbing the boat they can concentrate on detailing and assisting the other members of the crew. There’s a bunch of hardware sitting around ready to be installed. The crew is making all of the through hulls out of G10 thereby eliminating any concern of galvanic corrosion.

Nick,

That's reassuring to hear.

But then again would we expect anything less.

I can't wait to fire these beasts up. We're about 4 weeks away from getting the dry risers. The guys built some custom shaped oval exhaust tubes with built in channels to accommodate the genset exhaust. I've been bugging them to install them but they are too focused on the topside work still.

I don't know about it being the best thread on the site, but it probably is the best build thread at the moment. There's nothing that I've seen that's constructed like this vessel. But then again there's something to be said about using a combination of old and new technology.

James, you got that right. Although I wish it were like the other projects I've managed. The ones that make money.

Yep, we'll have to network with ya out there in the deep, cover more ground. I can't wait for this summer.

I hope this helps.

The epoxy on the transom has been sanded and the varnish will begin soon.

A little more detail being added to the tuna door gate.

Here's a picture from Tuesday. Fresh shot of primer.

Louvers being fit in. There won't be a flange frame going around the louver. They will be installed and finished flush and clean to the hull. You can't pick it up in the images, but the louver blades are radiused.

Work going on in the galley.

Fuel lines going in.

Custom fuel manifold ready for install.

Purple heart rub rails going on.

Custom companionway hatch mock up. The full size version will be made from mahogany. The openings cut into the top of the hatch is there so it's possible to view the detail in the guides. The full size peice will have solid mahogany bent tops.

The tackle boxes have been removed from the boat and are getting a coat of paint.

Lastly is the color samples.

Cloud White and Fighting Lady Yellow.

The windscreen shape was mocked up last Tuesday and the patterns have been made and are ready to ship to the manufacturer. We're waiting for the dry risers to show up. They've been made and are ready to ship. That's all for the moment. Enjoy.
