We're getting to the point where meeting are more frequent and decisions need to be made more often. At times there are 10 people working on her. So I headed down to the shed to work out some details. Including a sliding hatch top that's going to be spectacular. While I was down there the crew went on break so I grabbed a few pictures. Enjoy!
The dodger front has been glassed in and sanded. The sides have been epoxied and it's almost time for high build primer. Here's a few perspective photo's
The vents are in the process of being fabricated in the shop. The inset frame is ready to receive them. The guys are building a 2 piece exterior louver system that will have a 45 degree rake on the louver blades. They will look very nice when completed. I've seen the mock up.
The helm deck has been sanded and epoxied.
I didn't pull the trigger on the Stidds yet and that may have been a good thing. One of the guys went to Imtra to pick out some LED's for the engine compartment, which are really sharp by the way. I'll provde some pictures of them once they put them in. Anyway they sent a brochure on Besenzoni seats. This is a pciture of the sales book sitting on what will be a concealed chart holder. I have to admit those seats look great.
The cabin bulkheads are going in.
The cockpit tackle cabinets have been sealed and are almost ready for paint. Check out the quality of the construction. That's solid mahogany around the corners.
I've been bragging about that transom. Well there's 3 coats of epoxy on it and it needs to be sanded prior to the varnish going on. But it's already starting to look deep.
The teak deck is almost complete but I won't show any more photo's of that until it's done. As you can imagine it's looking sweet. They've installed the perimeter teak boards and it's epoxied down. They have to install the fish box hatch cover and the stair treads. There's a lot of work going on in the engine room. I'll photograph that in a couple of weeks. The strutts are due in this week and it's time to pull the trigger on the windscreen and tower.
I'll be sure to pass that on to the crew building her.
Clt Capt, I think she looks better and better every trip I make to the shed. I can't wait for the first coat of paint to get sprayed on the topsides. I was just standing there the other day admiring how fair this gal is. If that transom is an indication as to what the topsides will look like man o man.
Nick, I thought you'd be having withdrawals.
Frank, you got mail.
JD hope to see you in the canyons this fall.
sf_surfr, Dave she's a wolf in sheep’s clothing..... Bad Ass is right.
I was having a conversation in the engine room as we were testing led's and with all of the sound down panels that were installed there was no resonance to anyone's voice. I'm hoping she's so stealthy that marlin feed off of the flat lines.
