    CUMMINS QSC 8.3 MARINE ENGINE

    Any views on the QSC 8.3 540mhp 2600rpm.A friend is interested in it so need some feedback.Thanks!

    Anyone with any first hand experience with this particular engine OR Cummins marine engines in general?? Are they good??

    its a cummins, as long as someone treats( maintence) right , it will be treat you right. They do not smoke, and are very quiet. You buying new or used. If you need more info boat diesel.com look up that series.

    Nabeelah,
    The 540QSC Cummins is my motor of choice for all the 36' Jersey Cape's we build. have not had many problems they have been a great motor for us. Give me a call or PM if you have any questions

    Great motors,
    I can't say enough good about them. Just took out a pair of 300 b series and up graded to the 380 qsb's in my 35 Bertram, she's a rocket ship with super fuel economy and I have plenty of reserve power.

    Just helped install a set of QSM 11's in a 46 Irvine Forbes built Carolina boat. A little tight squeeze but the performance is sick, she is in Morehead City, it's called the "Carolina Pirate".

    In my opinion, I don't think you can go wrong with them.

    There is a pair of 8.3's in our boat, love em. Never had a problem. Good fuel mileage, start easy, and dont smoke a lot.
