Also for the record, I would buy another 33T tomorrow and just might be doing that or maybe the new 39...... time will tell....

PLEASE let me know if I need to call Harbor Island for a slip...sorry if I offended anyone, it wasnt my intention
You are fine with the slip, please no hard feelings at all. I had no other way then this to deal with this as a public problem on the internet.

I know it wasn't your intention by any means. I am sorry to have to write some of that because I do consider you as a friend and I would still take care of anything in the world for you and your boat that is within my power.

After getting walked on and kicked in the back by others earlier this year by a few crews that I thought were loyal and considered them good friends. I am a bit more cautious on how and who now.

Giving slips and shit away is not fair to my hard working prostaffs/customers that do everything right and represent me and the products to thier finest. All of us work are asses off at the tournaments for you guys.

The Monster Shark that we just got done with we had 15 boats there 7 bulkhead slips, 8 Moorings, 5 Houses, rental car. Shuttle service provided by Mary and Contender paid for all the Ice and Slips for the whole event plus sponsors the tournament trophies and awards, gave a 21' Contender & Engine away, plus 15k in certificates. One of the boats that ran up from NJ had a fuel problem 20 miles out and lost an engine. The local dealer up there repaired a major fuel pump problem the day before a tourney and got him up and running for the tournament the next day. Spending all day working on it. Then we broke our boat Friday night with one day left to fish and Hyannis Marine in Falmouth then worked on that all night and part of the morning Sat and we called it quits.

No manufacturer other than Yamaha and maybe Mercury would do this for thier guys.

Like I said please no hard feelings you know my number and the phone is always on. Remember when I said I will give you a smoken deal, I meant that and its still on. We just need part a to get to part b. Part A will come soon

You 100% have a slip at Harbor Island and your ice too! Please let me know what day you are coming down as soon as possible so we make sure the slip is clear.

Ps. I know you don't care about the money, but it is nice to have it. More orange crushes

See you soon

unfortunatly there are some people that have the bad end..

they buy a nice boat. have questions, need help with thier boat and never get it. Or how about the service and the dealer belly-upin' slips, and so forth to "some" custmers when the others are put on the back burner??? lifes funny and so are "some" people.. you shouldn't need a favor or a hand out to make you happy.. it was not that way before and still should not be that way! Good biz. promotes Good Biz. ! thats the way it works I could jump up n down all day long bitchin' about what boat creatures do but that doesn't do any good till they change thier way of biz. A good relationship with the dealer and boat plant is a plus... so is customer service! bottom line!

gotta agree with this...having to "kiss someone's azz" to get something done on your rig is insane !! shouldn't work that way...warranty is warranty, end of story...trust me,me n ol' quest here we get the whole deal,we're in the buisness...if we screw up and do soemthing wrong we eat it,plain and simple...that's how it works...factory should buck up and pay to have the gel issues repaired, end of story...and needing some one to "go to bat" for you is absolutley insane...
boat mfg's need to stop the game playing...the marine industry is not very consumer friendly...i've had dealing with boat mfg's,wellcraft is the first one that comes to mind,i had a new 270 coastal coming apart at the hull to deck joint...factory refused the proper repair...

Non transferrable?

Is Contender's warranty still non-transferrable to the second owner? Maybe thats why they won't pony up for the gelcoat fix??

ya know the best thing is to call them and talk to a rep....

Contenders in my opinion have a great reputation so anything between the buyer and the company is a phone call away.. and you can even call them in case your looking at one. Paperwork on hulls and engines down to the spare set of keys are important in every transaction. Some have put it like Contender 'owes somebody something' and some act is if they have 'the lucky horseshoe up thier butt, and they can perform circus tricks' ... but the easiest way to find out is pick up your phone and dial. brokers and salesmen/women need to follow up on paperwork so do you and the guy/girl you buy from.. I am a big creature and I even take a toll on boats because I fish hard when I go.. I drop pliers, leads, gaff the sides, jump on hatch lids to keep fish in, pull 10 wire across the deck, and the list goes on .. a shammy still fits my hand though!

You told the story as if I should learn something, as a consumer, from a dealers point of view. If that wasn't your intention, I dont really understand what the point of the story was. Forgive me if I misuderstood but I dont really have any sympathy for a salesman that lost a sale due to his incompetence and then wants to punish the customer for it.

Regardless ... this thread has turned into something I am ashamed of starting. I just had a simple question. Guess I just should have called Contender but this is usually who I ask first because the site tends to save a lot of hoop jumping in cases like this because of others who have already tried.

So much for that!
