    connecting a TV to a Raymarine E-Series

Has anyone been able to connect their salon, or any TV to the out put of the E series? Just had a new suite of electronics installed, 2 E-120's, HD fish finder, GPS, Sat weather/SST, cameras and radar. They stated it could be fed and displayed on the TV but it actually doesn't work. They used 56 herts and TV's accepts 60 herts, talking about the vertical refresh rate. They are not standing behind the product which we have invested about 20k in. There is a converter that ranges from 1400-4K but I don't feel I should be on the hook for it since they advertise and include in their manuals that this works. I know it works on the furuno and northstar. I would not have gone with this system if I knew this up front?

    Anyone else run into this?

I did the one on our boat and it works fine. Capt John ont the Hooked Up also has his set up on a 50' flat panel. The only thing I bought was the cable.

    Thanks,

I don't get it, they told us it won't work now without the converter. I am so heated at this point. The installer has worked at least a full day trying to figure it out and is out the time, because it is an eq issue.

How are you trying to hook it up? The E120 accepts and plays standard video. That's what your cameras are sending to the E120. What signal source are you sending to the E120? Your Television is a monitor and a tv receiver. Your E120 is acting as a monitor. You must have a "video out" to supply the E120. Most TV's only have a "video in". If you are using Directv or DVD or some source like that, then you simply go from the Directv/DVD to the E120 and you are using it as a monitor. Your TV doesn't get involved in it.

Hope this makes sense. I have a similar system and envy you your second E120.

    Cheers.

    Wasabi,

My issue is with getting the feed from the e-series to display on my TV. Raymarine has the vertical refresh set at 56 hz, and standard TV's accept 60 hz. I purchased the 300 VGA cable from raymarine and when we connect it to the TV is says no signal. I conected it through a VGA/RCA converter and got a jumbled picture.

I haven't had an issue with pumping the camera feeds to the E-Series since that is getting installed this week. Don't see a problem there.

Just curious if anyone has or is having the same problem I am. Wonder if it is just my TV (brand new Sharp LCD) most other manufaturers only comply with 60 hz.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Just throwing this out there- did you set the tv to video 1 or video 2 input?
I've forgot a time or two to change the video on the tv.
