    compatable metals

Can stainless steel bolts be used to fasten bronze thru hulls and zinc plates without having a compatability problem? The connections will be all grouned to the zinc plate.

    Any feedback is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    T.

    MadChark,

I can't say it's the "best" way, but I think you'll find just by walking around most boat yard's that it's done very frequently. I know there is info out there that will give you the precise answer. I'm just telling what I see every day. Making sure that those component's are bonded will help alot. Frank

Good Bonding is key. The Bronze fittings are actually more resistant than the stainless, and copper wiring used to connect between the thru-hulls and the zinc are slightly more resistant than the bronze.

Galvanic corosion is always going to find the weak link - Make sure you have a good connection to your zincs...
