That's a great price. I got a quote from a local shop and was twice that.

If I were to ship them to you, what's the turnaround time?

Lured Away- Really ? Maybe I should raise our prices. Just kidding. We try to work with our customers as far as turnaround. If you schedule it with us a day or two should be no problem. We have had props shipped to us from almost every state-and a few from the islands (that come in every year).... Any ?'s please give us a call- we LOVE to talk props! 856.231.0106.

Fortunate One- as far as when you should have your props remaned....

Depends on so many factors.....but after thousands of reconditioned props....I do have an opinion. Of course this assumes you have not hit anything or touched bottom.

Bronze Wheels-every year. We have a 30 ft diesel powered
express that we avg. 150-200 hrs on. Even w/out hitting anything we definately have flex at the end of the season.

Nibral Wheels- every other year. We have had customers whose props were still Class S after 150-200 hrs of usage.

But.......(Especially because its FREE)- Why not check them every year? They are too important to your boats performance to spend a whole season wondering if they're not right!

Even if you dont bring them to a shop for a check or service-I would still pull them for your lay-up and store them inside (if you can)............. I definately feel the increasing number of shaft failures is related to crevice corrosion-from props that are pulled far too infrequently.

    atlantis prop,

does great work..........that guy that works there can talk a dog off a meat truck. but when the props are done..........they are right. tuned perfectly. i would do business with them anytime. in fact i do, as an advantage they are local.

    Ray,

Thanks for all of the information. That's some good stuff there.

And thanks for adding what should be done with props when the boat is out of the water for winter storage.

When you consider the fuel savings for that charter boat it really puts in perspective what it costs for a tuned prop vs. cost of lost efficiency.

    Here's one for you.

Are you familiar with Carbon Fiber Props?

    Thanks Hubris.........Glad that your pleased....

Fortunate one- yes , saw them years ago. They are interesting- but they can break, are irreparable and non-adjustable (pitch, cup, etc.)

    It's time for mine.

Ok, you've convinced me to pull mine and get them checked. Never having pulled a prop, can an average hack like me take them off and put them back on? What can I screw up? (Ever the optimist...)

Thumbs up Great job Ray & Justin !!!!

All of our props go to Atlantis, Ray and Justin are great! They have reconditioned hundreds of props for our customers and not one issue. Ray is at the shop a couple times a week, I have also taken props to Atlantis that Ray and Justin reconditioned while I waited. Thanks again Ray & Justin keep up the great work & service

Thanks Frank.- Everyone already knows that Cardinal Yachts has one of the best service teams out there!

Just a note- for anyone laying up their boat at Cardinal- We will be providing free propeller checks during the off season.

(We will pick up your wheels and measure them in on the PROPSCAN computer for Class 1 Tolerances, we will then go over the results with you (the reports can be faxed to you) -If they are not Class 1 we offer a Full- Service Special! If they are Class 1 we offer a Clean and Balance Special for 1/2 the price! If you decide at any time after your free check-that you would just like them returned to Cardinal- We will return them free of charge.)

If you really want to maximize performance and fuel-efficiency, after your props have been tuned to Class 1 ISO Tolerances - Have Cardinal Yachts Service Team apply PROPSPEED underwater coating to your wheels! They are experts in Propspeed application.

Between a Class 1 ISO Tune and Propspeed Application- it is possible to have as much as a 20% reduction in fuel costs!!

    Thanks,
    Atlantis
