cleaning transducer connections
I keep losing the connection with my transducer. The first thing i want to do is clean the connections between the unit, the black box, and the transducer.
Any suggestions on what to use or what to stay away from. Just the usual like wd-40 or CRC ok?
Thanks for the help!

Anthony's Ark is a blowboater
If you are removing the unit from the boat on a regular basis, and have to remove the cables, they tend to wear out at the connection points. There is a grease available that may help that problem. I think it is called something like Dielectric grease but I am not sure. Also, check to see that the locking ring that holds the cable onto the unit is tightened.

Steve,
Thanks for your help and reply. I have some of that dialectic grease and will give it a shot this weekend. We do have to remove the unit each time, so that is likely what is happening.
Have a good week and thanks again,

Hey TT, thanks for saying hello.
We bumped bottom the other day coming in trying to work our way around one of the dredges. She had a small vibration afterwards and we had her pulled to get the wheels straightened out.
She's good to go, and we're headed down there this weekend to try for a Rockfish. I hope this cold weather is good news on that front.
I hope I can get this darn Fishfinder figured out as it's been bugging me for a while.
Tight Lines,
Ed
