Thumbs up CLARK ISLAND BOAT WORKS

I came across this builder/finisher this morning. I notice details, just my nature. I was blown away by the quality and attention to details of this finisher out of Maine. Site is a little tricky to navigate, if you click on a vessel let it load then click on the blank spot under the picture header the pics will then load.

Blog is worth checking out to with more photos.

I see quality everywhere, with stainless and teak used in all the right places, impressed to say the least!

    Thanks.

We're doing our best. I'll try to make the website easier to navigate.

They do indeed do some nice work, as most of the maine builders do. I will own a downeaster one day, and can't wait for that day.......

Glad to see you guys join the site Clark Island Boat works, have any pics of boats being built now? Would be cool to see a thread of a start to finish boat build.

Jim...I couldn't help myself after seeing the quality of the workmanship Clark Island puts into building/finishing a Maine hull. Ive' seen a few over the years, brandie new out of the shed and this company blows away the finishers ive' seen, surely price is price, and not to take away from other finishers there are plenty of great ones. I just see some great details and use of stainless and a nice amount of teak versus composite and plastics. Wiring and plumbing so organized you could actually follow a problem. etc etc..

Hopefully, Andrew will start a build thread here and pay us visits more often. Nothing like a Maine hull and heated house for GBT fishing in the cold..

I have a friend that has a house up in maine. I think one weekend we are going to stay there and take a trip to see all the builders, maybe do a weekend in review picture thread. Nothing like seeing a 38 Northern Bay or 42 Wesmac or 35 RP or 28 BHM being finished up. Ahhhh, I love downeast boats.......

Clark Island is a top knotch builder.

I just wish they were not so busy a few years back and could have finished my 38NB. I was right across the yard from them and often admired their work, especially the 42 Wesmac Kara Lee. What a beast! Keep up the good work!
