Looks to me like a Buddy Davis 52 with the addition of strakes....and I used to own one. Horizon Yachts is a well respected long-time builder of motoryachts. Haven't been through one, but quality should be fine.
Hey Doc,
It looks like it's worth checking out. I like the lines and it looks pretty luxurious.
I don't think I'd have an issue with that company looking at their fleet.
What's you architect buddy think of Horizon yachts?
Sorta like dating your step-sister. Maybe fun, but it just ain't right! Frank
Hi Mike,
Yeah, looks good but a production boat is no way near a custom made I suppose and its way over priced for a chinese built vessel.
The build quality on the Horizon boats isn't too bad at all. I have been through a few at boat shows and they certainly changed my ideas about what I thought a Taiwanese boat would be like. I have a friend who delivers them and his thoughts are that whilst they are not the greatest european built motor yachts they are a sound and well designed boat with simple features that will sell to the right market.
They will be at the Lauderdale Boat show as will our boat. come say hi after you have checked the Horizon's out

Not sure about that, would have to be on one. Can't imagine how'd they stack up against US boats.

I will stay away from it. Electrical wirings in China built boats are a mess. My Father in Law had a 49' De Fever trawler ,the woodwork was good, but he had to replace all electrical wirings ect on the boat as soon as he took delivery, the electrical installation looked like a big Lo-Mein all warped up,and I am not exagerating. There are great Custom Boat Builders here right here in the U.S. like Paul Spencer,F&S Yachts ect, that do a great custom boat with none of those issues, plus its helps support our own economy. Its really a clone of a 52' Davis, which was not really a great sea boat.
