Most of the boats offer good ride, speed and economy. Some a bit better than others. Some walk past one another in the rough. To each to his own in a sense
A lot depends on what type of fishing you plan on doing
39 Seavee - From what I understand an awesome ride. A few unnecessary breakable bells n whistles here and there. No cuddy available. Side tuna door
38 Jupiter - People love them. Personally never rode on the 38. No cuddy available.
New 39 Contender to be released, there is a lot of input coming out of the NE for what we do. Hull is done and topside is being laid out, should have full specs and line drawings on it soon. Prototype should be released at Miami show
Contender 36 Cuddy - Cuddy is huge, and the sky is the limit with options inside and out. Huge platform the whole nine yards. I like the S console that they offer on this boat its a perfect fit
Contender 36 Fisharound - The walkaround is laid out very well, has just enough cabin to suit, full size head/shower, sleeping room, amenities can be added tv/dvd, microwave, the whole nine yards. Generator heat ac
Contender 38 Express - Is an express it runs awesome. Powered with outboards. This is a nice fishing family boat. If you are they type of person that would like to go trump marina for the wknd or ship her down to FLA and run to the Bahamas for the weekend. Tons of storage and fishing room and an awesome cruise and ride.
39 Venture Cuddy - Is a real pretty boat, great for the family. A tank, a little on the slow side. I don't like how you can't walk around the strb side of the console. It reminds me of a midnight express. The transom area has a distance issue for fishing. The cuddy has a few quirks that I would see if they would rearrange for longevity. The fuel burn is pretty bad on her.
Midnight Express - Just don't do it
Stepped Hull -The 38 Fountains runs fast and well in some waters but others it tracks hard, and kidney failure is possible.

The boats fish well but are not designed or laid out the best. Re-Sale is pretty tough as well, market is flooded
Stepped Hull - 42 Yellowfin has quite a few quirks to it. Beautiful boat to most. I personally don't like the overall look of YF's in general. The sleeper console height too high for most average people to see clearly over and the bow adds to the blindness as well when bringing it on plane. Ride I would imagine is good. The feedback I hear on it is 50/50.
Stepped Hull - Donzi makes another pretty ship and is comparable to a fountain. Re-sale is real tough, market is flooded.
Some of the boats are more custom than others. Some have no dealer/service network at all depending on your area.
Your best bet is to book a trip to the Miami boat show in Feb and get a ride on all these and make a decision from there. Stay for at least 4 days show is huge. Also the weather is bound to kick up at some point and its a true test. Its not a good idea to buy without climbing and riding. I will be down there and I would be more than happy to show you around. Its not a secret I love my Contenders, but I am not bias to it one bit. There is a perfect boat for everyone. There are little things here or there than will mean the world to you and your fishing.
If you enjoy your family and fishing time there are a few that I would stay away from. Many reasons resale, ride, overall design and traits etc.
I hope this helps. If there is anything I can do to help or more info give me a yell 609-713-5540 or drop me an email.
If you are looking to get on one of the boats sooner than later let me know I will find one in your area to get on to.
