    Capt. Quest,

That's how I do business, I am part of the sale. An installation review is done to ensure that you will have no problems if a warrantee claim comes about. Knock on wood, so far I have not had any problem's with any installations to date. Hope the "sky" doesn't fall in tommorrow, but so far so good. The key with any one's engine I don't care who make's (although some are better than other's in my opinion) is proper installation and maintainence. Do Not cut corner's. Just too much investment there to try and save a "few" buck's.Frank SeaPower

3000 hours on a 420 hp. Engine runs great. Need to make sure you have the right prop to be turning max rpm's. Only time I get any smoke is on a cold weather startup when she's been sitting a few days, and that only lasts a few seconds. My transom is clean, doesn't need a scrubbing after every trip. I don't push mine hard, prefer to run her around 2250. Do the zincs and the oil and filters regularly and she goes real good. Good luck.

The engines run great it will also depend on which ones they are as to thr response out of the hole the 420 hp are elctronic and are called 3126B the 3126 is a mechanical fuel system that is based off of the 3116 fuel system.

    DING DING DING

The 3126's are good motors. Just don't get the higher HP de-regged ones (+350 hp). We have 3126 300's in our 30' Albemarle with no problems.

Had a bad experience with one of my 3126B engines, 456bhp rating. Just got off the whole head, with all new valve guides, valves and valve seats, aftercooler was in bad conditions (it seemed like an exhaust riser onto, lots of carbon deposits and oil residuals....) I'm trying to comprehend with Cat what problem occurred... All this shame, at only 485 hours. I'm somewhat afraid for the next hours. however, when they're ok, have tremendous torque and they sip fuel.
    Crossing fingers..............

Did someone of you had a problem like this?

We have the same boat and same engines. No problems ever, but they are a little sluggish for the boat.
