I owned a little 28 Warren O'Neal boat that someone cut the keel off of...... sure wish it was still there.

Thanks Captain Jay Kavanagh and Bligh
Thanks for the info.
Captain Jay Kavanagh : What did you pick up performance wise.
Bligh : Why did he regret it? Was it the protection factor or other.
Sorry if i was abit snappy in the last post, it was after a full day fishing in the cold.

Yea He had a 48 warren O Neal that had a full keel and twin diesels thats still fishing under enougher name then the Jersey Devil. He used to cut channels and bounce over shoals while others were hard on bottom with bent wheels sitting Idle. Then he had a 72 Buddy Davis custom and she was keel walking. And the rest is history. Cut the keel before finding out that rounding the keel would stop it from trying to ride up on the large flat bottom of keel
that sounds like some fun.
Are you sure you want to do it after the beach haven this year?
not much speed increase, but the boat handled alot better, particularly in a following sea.
We ended up putting a tower on the boat, and that negated the speed increase.
