    Carolina Custom Boatbuild project.....

with the SEA VEE sold and enjoying Sunny Miami, its time to concentrate on the project. After speaking with some guys in the know I have decided to go with the outboard powered setup. I am building this and have no idea how to change weight distributions and such to accomodate a diesel application. I think it would be better to go this route this first time and run with it.

Now 1st question...How does the transom degree affect the way the boat planes or runs out? Not sure what degree it is now but it was changed from the original setup as an outboard. How do I measure the degree of the transom?

That thing is gonna be bad as shit! I am still partial to diesels but to each his own. Either way, this boat is gonna be (to quote jack black in tropic thunder) BAD ACE!!! Cheesy...Yes. But it kinda fits the bill here I think.

Good luck on the build Ace.

    Cheers,

    Dave

The next bite on a jig.
You won't get very far in that pile of twigs. It has a bunch of holes in it.

I'll be standing by to see how you fill them.

Thanks for the kind words all. I like the idea of diesels myself but for this application I think its safe to stick with the outboards. Keep an eye out cause Ill be bringin all the hole filling to the site soon.

The angle of the transom will affect the trim some - sorta depends how far you can tuck the outboards under...

Are you gonna put tabs on her too? That should allow you to reduce the transom angle a bit...

If I had the choice, I think I would consider a bracket - leave the transom full, maybe include a transom door... then the angle wouldn't matter...
