Just researching some boats, can anyone give me a list of custom boat builders from N.C.? Thanks for the help.

Sorry if the pic is not sized right...Still learnin.
Our boat was built by Bubbie Crown in Deltaville, VA recently and it serves the purpose quite well plus it proabably will save you a ton of money over some of the other mentioned quality builders. I was an engineer-chemist in advanced composites for 35 years and do not know that any builder can make a hull much stronger than what technology and price allows on a boat. I know Resins have sky rocketed the last few years with petro chemical pricing going thru the roof which has resulted in costs to builders using epoxy, polyester and vinyl resins having to pass these costs on. I would shop around quite a bit before making any decisions in this economy and you should be able to find a very good deal on a quality boat. I think it all gets down to what you can afford to pay and this is directly related to a degree on how well you want the boat finished on the inside. I would be concerned about how the boat rides and how many layers of glass and mat is used in the hull and work from there. There are many ways to cheapen a boat using less expensive resins and you probably would not know the difference but the quality builders would not do this as their name and reputation is on line. With all respect to the quality builders out there that have been mentioned and there are quite a few I stongly suggest at least talking to Bubbie Crown as he built us a pretty nice boat that rides great in all seas. Check him out at www.crownmarine.com or (804 725-6555. Note: I love the new boat being built for the Canyon Runner group at Richie Howell's shop and amazed at how fast this boat was built for them but very happy with our boat overall.
