    Captain Squid boats

Does anyone have any info on these Carolina boats? Fishing experience, handling, hull design, build quality, construction, etc...

    Thanks!

Also West Wind in Wanchese (I think that's the name of the boat). I don't think you'll learn a heck of a lot about one chartering it though, other than the face time you get with the Captain if he is forthcoming about the pro's AND con's.

I have fished on the Impulse. Boy it is fast. We were Bluefin fishing and got a call where they were hooking up. We pull in the lines and he hit the throttles. It was like a center console coming out of the hole, not bad for a 58 footer. I recall the captain talking about the weight being a lot less than others the same size. The fuel economy was a plus also. Rode like a dream.

Is there any truth that the running bottom of the boat is running bottom of the 58' Jarrett Bay?

Leonard will build you whatever size you're after.

Is the bottom a "Jarrett Bay hull"? There could be some cross of knowledge there as Leonard and Randy are good friends, but Leonard builds his own boats...he's not farming out the hulls to Jarrett Bay.

Good, solid boats (as most Carolina customs are)...and one of the few builders left that have no qualms about building you a boat that is truly charter finished.

    Should be somewhat affordable also.
