    Thanks All!!

    great info ...

I am going up to get her next week. I have done the trip before but it never hurts to ask for directions again... (starting to learn that more the older I gets.. ) thanks for the prime rib and stiff drink tips also..! .. where can I catch a flounder..??? I know sounds weird from someone who chases sails and mahi but I like flounders..
she is actually going to be going to Ft Lauderdale area.
If your ever this way Troy stop in and have a rum on our dock and we do have a guest cottage you can crash in anytime. it's by the water so you can't get lost... thanks again for the information.. sounds like you never need to do more than chug along to make the bridges..

    trip south

    Hey quest,
yeah, it's a pretty trip this time of year except getting around all the slower traffic, trawler types and sailboats who prefer the center of the channel because of draft issues. Two more things, which i'm sure you know as your not new to moving boats, beaufort south carolina is a pretty town to tie up ,but be mindfull of the tidal current alongside. and the bridge at sunset nc ,old swing span with a donkey engine alongside, probably been replaced by now but it take awhile for them to openas traffic is one way.

hey capn. troy, that prime rib at coinjock marina is the bomb isnt it.when i had my boatshop in camden ,used to have sunday dinner there all the time, great food!

Sounds good Quest, I'll get up with you when we head that way.

As far as Flounder fishing goes...when you get to the bottom of the bay go drift some strip baits between the second and third islands of the Bridge tunnel on the east side. It's right in the bend,if you can catch the outgoing it will be even better.

I grew up there and it is a great place for nice flounder.

Good luck, if you stay over at Coinjock, give me a shout, the pissed off Capt. with a broken rudder is a good drink also,ha ha.

It is hard to beat Mike, the prime rib sandwich at lunch is a good one too !

When we came by under tow on Tuesday, Louis was on the dock and ask if we wanted anything........I replied, bring us some Prime rib in the skiff. He said give me 15 and I'll be there. Now that's service !

I got an ICW "kit" so to speak from Maptech. It came with discs for laptop, paper charts and chips for navnet. The ICW can we tricky, pay attention and have fun. It is a must do.

some pics of the boat and sea trial results..

the boat is well kept... bottom line. we went over her from stem to stern and the marine surveyor we had was great so many people could learn something from this guy!
the boat is a 50' Post and at 1910 rpm runs 30kts burns around 50 - 54 gph (depending on fuel load). most don't figure that. she is in great shape and we hauled her and the bottom was sprayed of and everything from strainer scoop's, thru-hulls, wheels, rudders, shafts and overall bottom condition was done BEFORE sea trial... <~~ (so many people do not get this part and figure it just makes sense to have a clean bottom from the buyers to the sellers view point.) all running gear was in great shape and she topped out at just before 2400 rpm and ran 34.7 knots.. at 1750 she did 27.4 knots so I will find a good cruising speed there somewhere ~ ..
I have no idea in this world why it was 89 degrees up there I was hoping it would be cool and nice...
    she will like Florida....

the Man le 840 hp rigs

I like them myself going to get the inner coolers done just because when we get home.
will be building a transom above deck bait well / fish box and adding a Eskimo ... the old furuno radar will be sold off and a garmin radar / gps / bottom machine is going in the dash.. (still not real happy **** their bottom picture though..)
looked at the big white release chair ... 4 rocket and 2 each side 80lb rig.. have not made up my choice.. needs to be white though due to fish.. two more big stern / wahoo Lee rod holders.. has a onan for genset again everything was in great condition and the people who owned it I do believe will miss her.

    Looks great Quest,

I see the hailing port as Hampton,Va......did a broker have her up there?

Anyway, when ya leaving **** her ? Looks like we have some nice S.E. Wind coming the first of the week, if you come through my way and lay over give me a shout, we'll have drink or two. Might have a slip for you to put her in at Pirates Cove of you do.

    Good luck,
    Troy
