A local artist that does some amazing work came to speak to my wifes kindergarten class recently. His work has been the buzz over the years since he did the first one. His first tail was destroyed by the micro down burst that battered Charlottesville this past June. He had constructed it on site and was pretty cool to see the progress from start to finish.

What I thought was interesting was fact that he talked to a boat builder to help him with construction techniques. The three shown here were built in pieces and relocated from his home just a few miles away. The boat builder had given him several tips including how to construct sections making transporting easier and on other work to use a mirror to see work only half completed. He also uses all scrap material picked up by various trades around the area. I've not seen the five foot trout in his front lawn but plan on finding it.
