Boat Build Update.

I was going to wait until the engines were installed but after going to the shed today I thought I'd post some pictures. Engines are going in tomorrow..

900 ponies. Twin Turbocharged

The other 900 ponies still under wraps resting along the starboard side.

Lazzerett Hatch. We're ordering sets of hinges from Italy for these hatches.

Rear Engine Room Bulkhead with access holes. These will have water tight hatches installed over them.

This is also an older image of her structure.

This is an older picture of her bow shape.

Wow very very nice looking! Can you talk about how much it cost to build this, or is that private and you can't talk about it to the public?

You are going to need a bigger garage door.

How soon before it's completed?

I prefer not to discuss cost. Let's put it this way. Due to the arrangement I have with the builder it's not going to cost me much more than a brand new plastic 48' Buddy Davis Express fully loaded and this boat is so much more than a 48' Davis. Comparably, there’s nothing on the market that can compare to this boat. If this boat were to be set up as a true tournament boat and used specifically as a tournament toy on the circuit I'd be willing to guess she'd win her share of money. There's something about wood hulls and harmonics that raise fish. Not all boats are the same. But tried and true history indicates that for some magical reason wood boats if set up properly can out produce a plastic of aluminum boat.

Capt. Rick -- The launch date isn't cast in stone yet. She will splash in 08 but we're not going crazy to rush her out the tight door. As a matter of fact the door is coming apart the day she's moved out of the shed for the last time. There's an inch clearance on the width and the toe rail will be installed at the tower fabricators shop. The height clearance will require removal of the door header and a couple of metal panels. No big deal.

triniswordfishb-Yep 8SY-STP's project WOT is 39 knts which I believe is conservative. I'm hoping for the magic 40.

Hi MarkP - She’s sweet looking on the outside but with that framing structure and now the twin 900's, she's like 300 Spartan Warriors.

CB&T - She's 48'+, The builders are a band of Gypsy's working in Newport RI. Many people don't realize the tallent that's up here in southern New England. There's even talk of a megayacht company moving into the area.
