What type of boat are you running them in? How about the displacement. 500 hours since June, you must be running her down south. What are you swinging for wheels? And how about gear ratios? We have projected calculations on speed and fuel burn but I think they are conservative. As far as the electronics particulars, I don’t' have the list with me now, but there are 2 sets of controls, with trolling valve actuators and I believe we got 1 set of the monitoring displays, they will be used in the engine room mounted next to the engine room start stop panel. We'll take advantage of the NEMA system to integrate engine data to the electronic displays. Wickedditch, I believe you're right. I'm going to be spoiled especially with that structure under me. James, great analogy. I can't wait to chat with you out there. It's nice to be out there with people that you can network with. Fishfighter, I've thought long and hard about a kill box/live well in the transom, but when I sat down and listed things that were important to me one of them was a clean transom so it would be easier to leader and gaff feisty fish. |

boat build
F.O.,i hope when you get that beautiful gal built you come down south some and get some of the bahamas fish blood on her and hope i get the pleasure of meeting you. the way thing are looking iam leaving in about 3 weeks heading to the islands for about a year and 1/2 to build 2 new golf corses, love to see ya over there fishing the slot from eluthra down to mayagauna and mabey a little futher south where i spent the last 2 years in the turks to D.R.,fishing and diving its hard to explain futher south the better.
NEED UPDATED PICS LOL....... here are a couple of pics of my good friends merritt 67,he's finishing up the ass end of the boat, i guess i was demoted lol because he is a pain in the azz, very meticulous and all that varnish work is by hand his hand work. LOL i told him as soon as we get her out and i dont care what fish i catch i was going to smear blood all over it period and his smart azz remark was hed be calling C.G. with M.O.B. numbers to find my butt, later capt. Wickeditch that is one sweet ride.
What I've noticed is the transom covering board is smaller than the sides. We're doing the same. It's a matter of balance for the leader man. With the larger boards the position of the hips in relation to the outward reach can be a bit awkward. With the narrower boards and the room for feet on my boat tends to provide a good stable sense of balance while leaning over the transom. I was wondering how the appearance would be and with the picture you posted, I know now and I like it. I also like the teak deck at the capstan. That's the first time I saw that done. Yep that varnishing certainly looks like a lot of work, but it is a thing of beauty. Looks like a Rybovich. Correct? Mike |
