Boat advice

I'm going to purchase A fishing boat in the next few months when I return from Iraq. I'm being relocated to Georgia from Hawaii. I have been fishing on numerous friends boats in Hawaii for a awhile as well as California Waters. I have a rough Idea of what I wan't, but looking for some advice. This will be MY first boat. My Family has had boats, I have been a boat ho for sometime, Crewing, cleaning etc on others. I'm aware of the Acronym BOAT (break out another thousand). The advice I'm searching is what can I expect offshore Georgia? I have fished inshore there years ago, but never been out to the blue water. I know it is a bit of a run. I would like something with a Cuddy, or something to that effect. Center cosoles are great but my kids and wife fish so they like to get out of the sun. I'm thinking of spending around $50,000. I wan't reliability and range.....But a compromise on fuel efficiency as well. If anyone has any sight or advice/info I would appreciate it.
Thanks

man i hear this all the time.....my wife and kids want to get out of the sun in the cuddy cabin. Let me tell you, they won't spend any time in that cabin cause that sucker will be hot as hell and stuffy unless you get AC. The T-Top on a CC will provide shade. Most of the people i know that bought smaller cuddy's (which is what you will be looking at in that price range) wish they had gone the CC route. If you are set on the cabin I would look for a used Grady White cause you get more boat in that price range, and grady's are pretty nice. GA will have SW winds in the summer and vary the rest of the time. from the beach to about 40 miles you will be doing king mackerel and dolphin fishing during the summer, grouper in the fall if you like bottom fishing.
