    Boarding ladder suggestions

We have a full, fiberglass platform on our 28 Bertram. We use this boat for diving and fishing and I have a couple...uh...larger..friends that dive with us. It presently does not have a boarding ladder. This is whatI need. A ladder that is strong, easy to use with fins and gear, and one that stows out of the way of fishing line and tackle when we don't need it.
Anybody have the perfect ladder that will fit this situation and platform?

    Thanks!

    Ray

Hi Ray do you dive and fish on the same trip?
I personal would not space dive gear etc.
So I would find a ladder that would go over the side of the boat and is a fixed ladder, as apposed to a rope or wire ladder, also I would make it 10ft longer than the free board this will give you a point to hang onto as a deco/safety stop before surfacing, the whole thing could be lashed to boat deck forward of the **** pit and deployed at the dive site. I would look around for an aluminum one for the weight, most pool supply places have a big range of aluminum steps with long bent hook arms, do not go for plastic treads they will not last the distance with all the extra weight of dive gear! Your dive platform then stays free for the dive master, rescue diver.

What about a armstronge ladder that can be mounted to the swim platform?

We've come across a dive ladder that we're going to investigate a lot more closely. It is pictured on www.DiveNDog.com. The dive ladder on the main page will take you to the page that has a description on it. If we have the 5" clearence, it will fit the bill perfectly...we hope.
    Thanks for the responses.

We can also build you a very nice flip up heavy duty dive ladder that will handle anyone and fold up for storage on the platform . Construction would be Anodized Aluminum Pipe .

Thanks, Towerman. HOwever because of family and other activities on the boat we'd like to keep the platform clean as possible.
    Do you do hardtops?
