Thanks for all the replies. I have no problem with working hard to keep my boat clean. I acid wash and wax the boat twice each spring and make sure I wash the hull after each trip. I have never heard of colinite wax, but I will definitely look into it. I guess the only variable left now is whether the dealer wants to make a deal. I will let you guys know and post some pictures if I buy it. Thanks again for the info. Kenny

Dozer, I see you fish out of the Highlands and also live in mountainside. I know DnR boats in Green Brook Carries it, and if it is not in stock they can have it in 2-3 days, Tom can order it for you there. Also, Lockwood Marina carries all of colonites products in their store. West Marine carries some of the products, but is limited in which ones they carry, typically it is just the hull clean from what I have seen, once in a while they have the wax in stock. I used 3m products one season on my older boat, and colonite all the other seasons, both were great and looked great, but the colinite seemed to last a little longer. I agree the colinite is a little harder to work with but IMHO well worth it. Most places in the area that detail boats use colinite products. I know Dr Gelcoat in Port Monmouth uses colinite products, I asked him when I had him redo a hatch for my older boat last winter.

another fan .... I have used this stuff for 25 years and keep coming back. I have always found it to hold up really well. If you can't find it local give them a call.

Best and cheaper way to clean a black hull (salt water stain) is with WHITE VINEGAR. Get a rag and soak it with vinegar, do sections at a time, rinse with water and when you done the whole boat clean with mild soap so your boat dont smell like a salad.

or fill a pesticide sprayer bottle with the long hose and nozzle and mix it with some water and spray it on and then wash your boat as you would normally do...gets the hard water spots off the hull.

I Agree with the " White Vinegar Wash " we been doing it for over 25 years , you can use it on both Gelcoat or Painted boats !

Another factor to take into Acct. " RESALE Value " up there in the Northeast the Black Hull boats are harder to sell - Why ???

In the Southern States - it is believed that fish don't see the Black Hull boats VS White Hull Boats ???????????? Cardinal Joe
