Bittersweet day yesterday

Well, the old 45 Viking is officially gone... Had one final 12 hour send-off run up the coast this weekend with zero problems. There's been much knuckle-blood loss, sweat and maybe even a couple tears from maintaining her over the past few years. I can't even count just how many new curse words I invented while working on her as it wasn't uncommon for an occasional close quarters repair to cause a flare up of my "mechanics tourette's". She's been a good boat and I'm sad to see her go.

On the flip side, we're moving onto new adventures with a larger Bertram that can better accommodate our growing family and long-distance travel plans. In pulling a deal together, I can't begin to express just how pleased I've been to be working with the good folks of Beacon Point Marina in Cos Cob, CT. I highly recommend them.

I'm surprised. I traded my boat in, didn't get what I expected however I felt as though the customer experience was worth it. They made sure the boat was ready to go for a several hundred mile long trip and took care of every major concern I had prior to leaving. Even checked in a handful of times since I left their yard.

Would you mind elaborating as to your experience?

im sure you spent more money than we did but still customer service is what it is. Ordered a brand new proline 23 sport with all the bells and whistles. Show up to pick the boat up and there is glue all over the boat from the shrink wrap then the trailer that they gave us was way too small for the boat and they said that was the tailer we were supposed to get even though on the bill of sale we had a different one. Ignored our phone calls for weeks before we figured it out. Ended up paying an extra $1200 for the new, appropriate trailer. The the trailer they gave us had no brake fluid in it and we almost wrecked our boat on the way home. What can I say, just my experience
